Steven Oster Hill, District #2
District #2, Commissioner Hancock CountyBorn February 7, 1959 Steven Hill is a lifelong resident of Hancock County. Raised on a farm in eastern Hancock Commissioner Hill attended Sparta School & graduated from John Hancock Academy in 1977. He attended the University of Georgia during his first year of educational studies at an institute of higher learning. Steven transferred and later graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville, earning his B.B.A.
In 1983, Commissioner Hill went to work with his brother Jack at Hill Farm Supply located in Sparta. Years later he bought into the business and eventually took over operation of the business. Commissioner Hill was elected County Commissioner for District #2 in 2008. Mr. Hill recognized that there was a need for change in Hancock County and took on the duty of developing strategies for improving the way of life for the citizens. He enjoys contributing back to his community by being of service to others.
In 2009, Commissioner Hill established and started Hill Brothers Auto Parts. He also married Cindy Marchman that same year and they live on Sam Hill Road on their family farm. In his spare time Mr. Hill enjoys raising his cattle, bailing hay, horses, growing a vegetable garden, pecans and timber. He particularly likes working with the public, reading, traveling, old cars, and farming.
