January 5, 2020 Federal Runoff Election Information

·The Hancock County BOER is currently accepting Applications for Absentee Ballots

·November 20, 2020 the Secretary of State will mail Absentee Ballots to the Elderly, Disabled and UOCAVA voters

·Absentee Ballots will be mailed out by the BOER on November 20, 2020.

·L&A Testing, December 7, 2020 thru December 11, 2020, at the Hancock County Youth Center

·The deadline to register to vote in the January 5, 2020 Election is December 7, 2020

·Advance Voting, December 14, 2020 thru December 31, 2020, at the Hancock County Youth Center

·Absentee Ballot Drop Box, located at 9091 E. Broad St., Sparta Ga, is open for use

2020 General Election Audit

The Hancock County BOER in conjunction with the SOS/ARLO are conducting an audit of the 2020 General Election held November 3, 2020. The audit process is open to the public and will officially begin at 9:00 am, Friday November 13, 2020 at the BOER office located at 9091 E. Broad St., Sparta, GA 31087. The public is encouraged to attend.

Notice to the Public

On Monday, October 26, 2020, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(3) the Hancock County Board of Elections and Registration shall begin Early processing of Absentee Ballots.

Early processing shall take place at the BOER office located at 9091 E. Broad St., Sparta, GA at 5:00pm.

EARLY VOTING LOCATION


Please be advised that due to the state of emergency resulting from COVID-19, and in order to promote safety through social distancing, the Hancock Board of Elections and Registration (BOER) has decided to change the location for Early Voting for the General/Special Election. Early Voting will be held October 13, 2020 thru October 30, 2020. This change is for EARLY VOTING ONLY.

The General and Special Election

The last day to Register to Vote in the General and Special Election is October 5, 2020.

You may Early Vote in person at the Hancock County Youth Center Monday through Friday from 8:00am until 5:00pm October 13, 2020 through October 30, 2020.

Saturday voting will be held on October 24, 2020 from 9:00am until 4:00pm.

The General and Special Election will be held November 3, 2020. You may cast your vote from 7:00am until 7:00pm. For your Election Day voting precinct see “Where Do I Vote in Hancock County” below.

General/Special Election

The last day to register to vote in the November 3, 2020 General/Special Election is October 5th.

Voters must be 18 years old, U.S. Citizens, and legal residents of Georgia and the county where they are voting.

List of Items You Need to Vote
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a legal resident of the county where you are voting
- Be at least 17 1/2 years of age to register and 18 to vote
- Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
- Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge

Identification Required to Vote
- A valid Georgia driver's license
- A valid identification card by any state or U.S. with photo
- A valid United States passport
- A valid Government employee photo identification card
- A valid United States military identification card with photo
- A valid tribal card with photo
